Artist's Comments

This is another of the etchings that was submitted for my second year final exhibition along with 'Arms' [link] This etching took about 18 hours to etch, using several techniques within this single image and several states of developement. Line etching aswell as Aquatinting was employed to describe detail and definition between structure and shaded areas.
Hope you like it
~Enjoy~

I can't believe this doesn't have more comments, this is stunning! The details are so realistic, it looks like something out of a medical book.

Great work. :]

Man that technique is amazing! is a shame that not all schools teach it :/

It has some proportion troubles but the composition is armonic, and the technique stands great!

PS. i have a deviation with the same name :XP

Thankyou very much for that! Allways makes me so happy to hearthat people appreciate and enjoy my work :D

Thankyou. Yes, i know the proportions is slightly out. Some muscl layers have'nt been removed which makes it seem more off than it is, but it is slightly off anyway. It's almost a dying art, which is a great shame. It's something i intend to do allot more of in the coming school year though. (My final year of Uni.)

Some people still practice it on my university but sadly, the materials became too expensive since; as you said, is a dying art :(

Im one of a very select few who parctice it often, and the materials are expensive for us aswell (luckily the university doesnt make the students pay for their materials seperately though).. it is unfortunately dying out though :(
